Cut a couple of sections of
bicycle tubing about 6" long
each. Miter one to fit against
the other at a right angle.
The mitering should be accurate
enough that there is no gap
larger than .030". Braze them
together.~

Turn down the gas velocities.
Now, just as if you were welding
with brass, using a small torch
motion, and working in sections
around the intersection from
right to left, weld bronze beads
over the intersection. Obviously,
you don't want to use enough
heat to melt the steel, but melt
the underlying brazing so that
the new brass beads adhere. Done
properly, this enlarges the area
of contact and greatly increases
strength. This is called fillit
brazing.

When cool, try to tear your
practice pieces apart to see how
strong your brazing is.~
